I thought I'd check the forecast for New Years Day, and it's not looking good.
Rain and wind all day are likely to cause problems with certain species, and although last years opening day total of 55 was relatively modest, it might not be so easy to surpass that total this time around.
Either way, it's bound to be a busy day and the weather should keep a lot of non birders away for the day.
